Haircut, new toy, and a pumpkin

I haven't posted in awhile cause nothing too exciting has been going on until this week. Bekam had a pretty gross rooster tail goin on so we cut that off. We also bought him a jumperoo that he loves. He always wants to be standing up so this is perfect. And then today we went to the Pumpkin Patch that WSU grows. It was a little chilly and Bekam hated the wind, but we ended up with some pretty sweet pumpkins.

Moving on up

I haven't posted anything in a while and I still don't have too many pictures to post. It has been a crazy couple of months, but we finally got moved up to Moscow. We've been here about a week and it's going well, Dan started school on Monday and so far so good. Here's a picture of us at the Lentil festival in Pullman, WA. Behind us is a big vat that they have chili made from lentil beans, not the best chili, but hey it was free. Here are a few pics of Bek, he's getting so big. I tried to get video of him rolling over, but of course as soon as I get the camera on him he stops. So here are some pics of him in the process of rolling over.

It's Official

Here are a few pics from graduation last Friday. I received my bachelors degree in social work. It was a great night, it feels so good to finally be done. I've been in school for so long that I don't really know what to do with myself, but I have Bekam to keep me busy now.

Bekam's Blessing

Here are just a couple of pics outside the church after the blessing, if you can't tell it was a little sunny. Bekam was pretty pimp in his vest and bow tie.

Fourth of July

I finally got him smiling on camera, it took a few tries but I got it. We are really bad at taking pictures...you would think that we would be better now that we have a baby. We always take the camera but then forget to actually use it. So we didn't get any pictures during the day on the fourth, but we took a couple once we got home cause Bekam was being pretty cute. . This pic was from Sunday after a nice long walk. He must have taken in a lot around him judging from the size of his eyes!

B-25 at the Rexburg Airshow

The video is from the golf course where I was volunteering as a crowd controller. Had to keep people off the course. Pretty dang good view most of the time, this was a little far away though.

Trail 70 vs. The Dogs

This movie is from the Blackberry so its quality at a larger scale isn't that good.

It's all about Bekam now!

What a Stud! Keeps getting bigger..not really taller.

This was Bekam at Week 7. This was when Bekam was first home. Week 1.

Graduate School in the Fall

Moscow, ID --University of Idaho, Biological Sciences Department-- I have to be up at school around the second week of August for training and orientation. U of I has a strong Bio Sciences program with intriguing research. I'll be working with Dr. Anway as my major prof. and teaching several labs a semester. From Dr. Anway's school web page describing his research: The research in my lab focuses on understanding the molecular processes that regulate the adult testis and prostate gland in men. We study how environmental toxicants and age affect the function and disease onset in the testis and prostate gland. We utilize a variety of molecular approaches in attempts to characterize the function of the epithelial cells at the molecular level. In the prostate, we are interested in determining key regulatory events that could be used as biomarkers for prostate diseases. In the testis, we are interested in understanding the hormonal regulation of the Sertoli cells and how age influences their functional processes. Were excited to get out and start anew-plus, Chris and Alyssa are up there so It'll be a lot of work with a little bit of high quality fun.

Sunday socks rule!

I made Kari come with me to return a movie. Good old times on a Sunday night. I love dressing up. We went to return the movie and the Redbox was out of order. Called em' right up and they gave me credit for the movie plus three extra. Great customer service!

Ya gotta love the memories

As I was looking at Red's sonogram (which was very disturbing) on his blog, all I could see was Chris as a little kid. Well don't worry Red we found your long lost preschool picture! Oh, The memories. It kinda reminds me of Baby Herman!

Graduate School

Texas Tech University-Environmental Toxicology
Really great school for Toxicology with a strong program called the Zumwalt Program: Biological and Chemical Countermeasures. I've been accepted in into the graduate school and now just trying to get funding for school. Waiting and lots of phone calls
University of Idaho-Biological Sciences Masters I would be working with toxicants and the reproductive organs of the body. Still within a toxicology area but a biological sciences degree. I've been accepted and have funding, just waiting on the other schools to see if they offer anything as well. Both are really great schools. Still waiting on Utah State University Toxicology program. Who knows because I haven't heard anything yet.??.
