Graduate School in the Fall

Moscow, ID --University of Idaho, Biological Sciences Department-- I have to be up at school around the second week of August for training and orientation. U of I has a strong Bio Sciences program with intriguing research. I'll be working with Dr. Anway as my major prof. and teaching several labs a semester. From Dr. Anway's school web page describing his research: The research in my lab focuses on understanding the molecular processes that regulate the adult testis and prostate gland in men. We study how environmental toxicants and age affect the function and disease onset in the testis and prostate gland. We utilize a variety of molecular approaches in attempts to characterize the function of the epithelial cells at the molecular level. In the prostate, we are interested in determining key regulatory events that could be used as biomarkers for prostate diseases. In the testis, we are interested in understanding the hormonal regulation of the Sertoli cells and how age influences their functional processes. Were excited to get out and start anew-plus, Chris and Alyssa are up there so It'll be a lot of work with a little bit of high quality fun.

Sunday socks rule!

I made Kari come with me to return a movie. Good old times on a Sunday night. I love dressing up. We went to return the movie and the Redbox was out of order. Called em' right up and they gave me credit for the movie plus three extra. Great customer service!

Ya gotta love the memories

As I was looking at Red's sonogram (which was very disturbing) on his blog, all I could see was Chris as a little kid. Well don't worry Red we found your long lost preschool picture! Oh, The memories. It kinda reminds me of Baby Herman!

Graduate School

Texas Tech University-Environmental Toxicology
Really great school for Toxicology with a strong program called the Zumwalt Program: Biological and Chemical Countermeasures. I've been accepted in into the graduate school and now just trying to get funding for school. Waiting and lots of phone calls
University of Idaho-Biological Sciences Masters I would be working with toxicants and the reproductive organs of the body. Still within a toxicology area but a biological sciences degree. I've been accepted and have funding, just waiting on the other schools to see if they offer anything as well. Both are really great schools. Still waiting on Utah State University Toxicology program. Who knows because I haven't heard anything yet.??.

29 Weeks...only 11 more to go

Here are the latest prego pics. People keep telling me I don't look pregnant. If I don't look pregnant I don't know exactly what look I'm going for with this big ol gut. Other than that things are great, I added a pic of Dan too so you don't forget what he looks like :0) So Cute!

Grinding Tests in Kansas Two Weeks Ago.

Just in case anyone really wanted to know. When I visited the flat land of Kansas for a week I was around these monsters everyday. I was in charge of the mass balance aspect of the test; making sure I got the weight of the bales before compared to how many bales we ground to the weight of the truck in the end. It was just as windy in Kansas as it always is in Idaho, and just as cold. All and all, a pretty good trip.
This is the Stevens III home with some Christmas Spirit. Kari did all the decorating but I did the lights. I still have to get some more to spice things up out side. I would decorate my bike Darla but I have to put her down one of these weekends so it'll be a waste of lights.
This is our beautiful Kari with her baby bump. She is 18 weeks along and just barely showing. We find out on Dec. 12 what the sex is. This is way cool and crazy at the same time!!

Flyin into Driggs!

I finally went flying last Saturday with Tom Walters. Pretty freakin sweet. We took a plane similar to this, Cessna 172 but ours had a lot more power. He stopped in Rexburg and picked me up and we headed to Driggs. Stopped at Warbirds for lunch which was actually really good and came back. I was having so much fun that I didn't take any pics or videos of the entire flight. That kinda ticked me off since I had my camera in my pocket the whole time. Anyway, dang cool.

Massive Moon

The moon was massive when we took this picture on Thursday night. Couldn't resist taking a picture. This was taken back up behind the ridge apartments where all the new homes are being built.

The Good Old Chalmers and the Baby Girl

Went to see the Chalmers' at the Hospital a couple days ago. Their baby girl "Andi" is very cute and things are really good. Stacey is great and Chalmers is a happy little school girl. We actually inspected the baby for the "thumbs" and I think its affirmative! The baby does have the Frodo's thumbs and big toes-well maybe just the toes. I think she came out with hair on her feet as well. Pretty crazy but thats what you get when Hobbits breed. No just playin. Andi is a very cute little girl.

Oakland Temple

Just after our Friends Andrew and Cassandre got hitched in California.

Our new found faith!

As you all know, Kari was stricken blind as a kid. Thanks to our prayers and diligent church service--Mother guadalupaaepulauada healed her! She can see! Its a miracle. I know church service and holy water is important--pls go to church and support mother guadalupaaepulauda!

Albuquerque New Mexico Templo

While down visiting some FAM in New Mexico we decided to visit the Temple. Very cool and just lovely weather!
