Birthday Boy!!!!

Here is the Birthday Boy enjoying the yummy breakfast that he requested. And we spiced it up a little bit with a birthday hat and some candles to make it super special. We just kind of did the usual thing during the day cause the weather wasn't very nice outside. But dad got off work a couple of hours early. We opened presents when he got home and then headed to Wingers for dinner. After dinner we headed home for a little party with friends and family and enjoyed some cake and ice cream. So Bekam went back and forth for a month on about five different birthday cakes, but he finally decided on "orange" Iron Man (I would explain what orange Iron Man is but it's a long story and I don't want to type that much). So here is the finished product. (Sorry it's sideways, but blogger is retarded). Here are a few of the gifts he got. This is orange Iron Man, this is the only thing he would say that he wanted when we asked what he wanted for his birthday, and we finally found the right one at the "circle" store (Target). My parents got him this rug to drive his new cars and trains that he got from G & G Stevens and mom and dad. Cool Spiderman Shirt. And of course what's a third birthday without a transformer. :0)

Easter Fun

Dan was out of town the Friday and Saturday before Easter so Bekam, Rafe and I went down to Shelley and stayed with my parents. Shelley has an Easter egg hunt at the city park so we headed down there. They had an assisted hunt and an unassisted hunt for Bekam's age group so I asked him if he wanted mom to help him and he said, "No I want to do it myself." So they blew the horn and he was off. He did such a good job and had the biggest grin on his face while he was searching. Here he is before the action started. Showing off his hard work.Rafe just enjoyed his binky during all of the action.Easter Sunday we had dinner with my family at my brother Eric's place. Egg hunt #2.And here are the boys looking oh so handsome in their Easter vests. And here is our attempt of our first family picture since Rafe was born. .

A Success!

I don't usually make chocolate chip cookies because they are either pancakes or little rocks. I have never been able to find that perfect in between cookie, so I have chosen to never make them. But today was the day, I was going to give it another try. I had gotten a recipe from my sis-in-law Roberta and she had tried it and they turned out good. So I threw caution to the wind and decided to give myself one more shot. And lo and behold it is possible for me to make a decent chocolate chip cookie...who knew! And yes I took a picture of them as proof, and so I would remember this day that a true miracle occurred! :0) This monkey enjoyed finishing off the bag of chocolate chips and licking the beater when I got done. And this other monkey had a front row seat to all of the action, because (as you can tell from the red eyes) he was throwing a fit unless I was holding him. Super fun.

Rafe 3 months

I can't believe 3 months have come and gone. Rafe is getting more and more personality all the time, and plenty of it is stubbornness (Dan thinks it come from me, but I disagree ;0)). He is quite the little ham though and loves to kick his legs and smile, and we've gotten him to laugh a couple of times within the last week. And he has also discovered his hands and loves to chew and suck on them. I don't remember why Bekam was crying, but then he realized I was taking a picture and was trying to keep up the crying act and trying not to smile. This is obviously the designated picture chair. It just works good for both kids to sit in. Rafe has started to really like his jumper, he's content in it for a while . And he can hold his head up better and is starting to reach out and touch the toys. Bekam getting in on the action
